Greetings!
One personal revitalizing technique from the Ice Man
that I would like to share with everyone that I do periodically
is the “Guided Wim Hof Breathing for Beginners.” However,
don’t be fooled by the title. Even those who have done other
breathing exercises will be genuinely challenged by his series of
three sessions, and beginners will often only be able to do one of
them. It oxygenates the body and brain completely in only ten
minutes: https://tinyurl.com/WimHof-intro.
See if you can keep up but do it sitting down.
Story #1 is exciting for the discovery of the largest
cache of natural hydrogen (200 tons in Albania) but the message of
the article makes the reader wonder what can be done when that amount
is extracted completely. Much like a dry oil well, the implication is
that we go look for another well. Alternatively, the same media
source offers a Related Article on extracting hydrogen from super
cheap ammonia (NH3) using only LEDs https://www.lagradaonline.com/us/hydrogen-nitrogen-energy-source/,
which is a lot more sustainable and probably worth the capital
investment. By the way, IRI has done over 50 articles in our Future
Energy eNews just on hydrogen, still searchable with “Find”
in our Archives: https://www.integrityresearchinstitute.org/news.html,
such as “Solar to Hydrogen at Kilowatt Scale” (Sept. 2024).
Story #2 is a jaw-dropper car for the price and total
lack of fuel. The website https://www.squadmobility.com/
is worth visiting just to see the immediate one-minute video of
the Squad Solar Car in action and the surprisingly low price
of $6250 before taxes. Truly a breakthrough, the car charges itself
producing about 13 miles (22 km) of range in most cities, except for
Las Vegas where a 19 mile (31 km) range is possible. Two top speed
versions are also available. The last surprise from this article is
that we can pre-order “without paying anything upfront, as long as
you’re outside Europe.” The Squad Solar Car is set to be on sale in
the US this year.
Story #3 is an echo of what China is doing in Tibet
with its GW
hydropower project. However, this Grand
Inga Dam project is in Southern African’s DRC where China’s potential
investment has been withdrawn. At 70 GW, it aims to serve 300 million
Africans and the World Bank is still optimistic the $85 billion can
be raised from private investment.
Story #4 is a breakthrough milestone for tidal power,
passing the six year mark without maintenance on the underwater
bearings or seals. Producing a total of about 6 MW with four
turbines, this Scotland installation helps pave the way for bigger
tidal wave farms now that they are more appealing to investors. A Related
Story in Oregon reflects the tidal
power or wind power choices to be made there.
Story #5 relates the latest on the amazing Chinese BYD
electric vehicle company, surpassing Tesla in sales, which may
actually be available in the US, while Americans pay higher prices
for longer charging time US-made EVs. BYD is worth visiting: https://www.byd.com/en/about-byd since
they have their own rechargeable battery company and is positioned
with all of the resources to keep their price below all competition
and the quality (charging time is about five (5) minutes) quite high.
This NY Times article is hard to read (with pop-ups) and may be
misleading however, so the Related Article is recommended: https://www.eenews.net/articles/us-automakers-headed-for-obsolescence-as-chinese-evs-grow-analysts-say/.
